The Eyevinn Open Intercom, built on WebRTC, offers a scalable, intuitive, and browser-based alternative that’s easy to deploy.

While Eyevinn Open Intercom already removes many of the barriers of traditional systems, control has so far required the use of a mouse — introducing potential delays in fast-paced settings.

By integrating Eyevinn Open Intercom with Bitfocus Companion, users can now streamline key intercom actions such as:

  • Toggle microphone and speaker mute
  • Adjust call volume
  • Push-to-talk
  • Mute and unmute microphones across all calls

All with a single button press on an Elgato Stream Deck.

How it works

Eyevinn has developed a Bitfocus Companion module that hosts a WebSocket server. The port of the WebSocket server can be specified in the Companion interface.

From the browser running Eyevinn Open Intercom, the user can connect to this WebSocket. Once an Elgato Stream Deck is connected, it appears in the Companion interface, where users can:

  • Select buttons from a preset created by Eyevinn
  • Create custom buttons with available module actions

Once configured, users can control intercom functions directly from the Stream Deck — no browser navigation required.
